What is Giraffey Journal?

I love bullet journals. I love keeping track of what I decide to do. Using it as a tool to keep me focused and say no to good things while I do great things. But bullet journals can take a long time to make. It is a serious danger that you could spend more time making bullet journals than you do using the journals to help you accomplish tasks. Over the years I wrote software that helped me make my journals quickly. Eventually I decided that maybe this software could be of help to others. So I polished it up and that is what became Giraffey Journal. If you know what you want you can create a journal in less than an hour.

What is Giraffey Journal not?

It is not itself a tracker app. You cannot check off things. You cannot see your history. It is a tool to help you make a physical paper journal that you write in with pen and pencil.

How do I use it?

Giraffey Journal is currently very opinionated on how you make journals. This comes from it being a tool to help me accomplish my journal. I would love feedback (suggestions@giraffeyjournal.com). But for now it works like this:

1. Create a journal
2. Create a page in that journal
3. Select the layout for that page
4. Fill in the variables for that page
5. Repeat steps 2-4 until you have all your pages
6. Export your finished journal
7. Bind it with thread and you have a journal

Giraffey Journal assumes you will print your journal on 8.5x11 pages and fold them in half hamburger. It assumes you will have journals between 2-4 months in length. There are a number of assumptions that I am not even aware of. More options may come later, but this is a start.

How much does it cost?

Giraffey Journal is a free utility right now. It may have a premium version someday if lots of people like it and I need to cover the cost of running the site. But I promise it will never have ads. I hate ads. If you would like to support the site, you can donate via Ko-fi (link coming soon).
